Forest Management and Harvest Strategy

Our over-riding management goals and objectives are detailed in the Woodlot Management Plan. Our forestry harvest strategies are outlined in the Woodlot Licence Plan and embodied in the Woodlot Licence Planning and Practices Regulations. These documents and associated maps are posted in the Woodlot documents section to the right.

Education

The woodlot is used by BCIT Renewable Resource students for training. We occasionally host high school tours and if you are interested in organizing a tour, please contact us to book a time and make arrangements.

Research

BCIT Renewable Resource students are regularly involved in research projects on the woodlot. Past projects include an amphibian presence survey, fish presence studies, alternative native species harvesting potential. If you are interested in conducting a research project at the woodlot, please contact us to discuss opportunities.

WOODLOT LICENCE PLAN DOCUMENTATION

The BCIT Forest Society is pleased to present information regarding the renewal of their Woodlot Licence Plan (WLP) for Woodlot W0007 located near Blue Mountain in the District of Maple Ridge, set to expire November 2019. This Woodlot License Plan will be available online for review and comment starting July 25th, 2019 for a 60-day period through to September 23rd, 2019. Should you have any questions or comments resulting from your review of this information, please submit them in writing any time during the next 60 days to:
